CarMax Foundation Enhances Arts Programs

Charterhouse School has received a generous grant from the CarMax Foundation for a third year. This grant has enabled in providing our students an integrated curriculum based on the performing arts. Charterhouse School has benefited beyond any expectations from this grant. We have been able to provide invaluable instruction and new and exciting cultural experiences to our students. We have partnered with many of the best performing art groups and teachers in the greater Richmond area. Our students have enjoyed workshops in African dance, creative movement, and drama, and have been treated to memorable performances by groups such as Theatre IV, Ezibu Muntu, The Richmond Jazz Society, and The Latin Ballet.  These events have helped the teachers enhance and integrate our curriculum and have provided new ways for our students to learn and grow. These events have also helped to create a greater sense of community within our school and residential program.  

We are immensely grateful for the experiences and opportunities given to us by the CarMax Foundation grant and we hope to continue the partnership in our efforts to build quality therapeutic and educational experiences for our students.
