AN IN FOR STUDENTS ON THE OUTS
Charterhouse School provides a nurturing and accepting environment for students 6 to 22 years of age. To ensure children receive the curriculum and individual support they need to succeed, we offer three different programs, each with its own admissions criteria, as well as additional considerations for students in need of significant behavioral support.

Admissions Criteria
For students with cross-categorical disabilities.
- Students must demonstrate emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities and other health impairments or multiple disabilities.
- To be considered for admission, students must have an I.Q. of 75/80 or above.
- Students with a lower I.Q. may be may be admitted on a case-by-case basis after review by the admission team.
For students with intellectual disabilities.
- To be considered for admission, students must have an IQ between 64 and 75.
- Students with a lower I.Q. may be may be admitted on a case-by-case basis after review by the admission team.
For students with autism spectrum disorder.
Students must demonstrate a need for instruction in the following areas:
- Participating in the instructional setting.
- Controlling problematic behaviors.
- Developing appropriate or functional communication skills.
- Performing independent activities without close supervision.
- Reacting and responding in socially acceptable ways to peers and adults.
- Gaining proficiency in simple social exchanges—or giving and accepting items.
- Increasing their independence in performing daily living activities.
