An extensive Reach
Charterhouse Schools provide students from greater Richmond and the Shenandoah Valley with special education and related services. They offer a rich curriculum, which is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning as well as students’ competencies. Both campuses offer extended school year programs during summer months. They also feature career and technical education programs as well as opportunities to pursue independent study and a range of extracurricular activities.
Richmond
Charterhouse School serves day students from the Richmond Metro and surrounding areas. Students who are residents at UMFS’ Child & Family Healing Center attend Charterhouse School year-round. Most classrooms are equipped with SMART Boards as well as laptops and iPads. The campus also features a gymnasium, an auditorium, an indoor pool, a video production studio, a culinary arts classroom with an industrial kitchen, a cosmetology classroom, art and music.

Edinburg
Our Edinburg campus provides educational services to students who live in the Shenandoah Valley. Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the school provides learning opportunities through state-of-the-art classrooms and a full-size gymnasium. Students may participate in music therapy via a partnership with Shenandoah University. The recently renovated school provides students with career and technical educational training opportunities in horticulture or culinary arts. Nearby Madison Park provides students with additional recreational opportunities.
